Every page on this website has been subject to technical review by at least one scientist conversant with the subject material.

Many pages are summaries of one or more papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

Following review and revision, accepted pages are edited to the standard of serviceable prose before posting. The date of the most recent significant revision is shown at the foot of each page.

Technical pages are solicited that are based on work already published or work in progress, that has the potential to contribute to understanding the origins of “hot spot” volcanism. Many pages include updates of peer-reviewed material and are thus more up-to-date than published journal articles.

Anyone is welcome to volunteer pages or to nominate contributions by contacting the website manager or her deputy.
